"Following our desire to upgrade our 15th century grade 11 cottage we knew correct procedures where required, even though the work required was part of a modern section we knew of John and Emma and their incredible facility to oversee such work, so we appointed them to carry out a full report from detailed drawings, incredible communication and attention to detail, their thoroughness led to a smooth path of securing the planning permission required and subsequent ability to now upgrade our beautiful home, our ancient cottage, top marks all round''
James Keitley, Ettington
We can’t thank Emma and John enough for their hard work on our behalf. All our thoughts and ideas were listened to and taken into consideration in a practical manner and our many queries received a rapid response. We were very pleased with the plans that were drawn up for us. At times dealing with planning can be a stressful experience, we are very grateful that it was made as easy as possible for us by Emma – what more could we ask for.

“Our 17th Century cottage was in need of renovation; the work had been postponed because of illness, and was becoming urgent. The list included repairs to the chimneys and the fabric of one wall, after which the thatch would need to be inspected and repaired. Several windows needed replacing, and the whole needed re-painting. I also wanted to install a modern wood-burning mass heater. I anticipated that co-ordination of all the activities would be a major problem, and we were extremely lucky to find a local architect who understood our concerns and remained responsive throughout the project. Their professionalism showed from the first, in the standard of the application for listed building consent, which was granted with no issues. They were instrumental in keeping the project on track so that the critical work was complete before the worst of the winter weather. We are extremely grateful to them and would not hesitate to recommend them or engage them on another project.”

"When we were looking to plan our hallway and kitchen extensions we approached a number of architects, and found Stolwood to be the most responsive, something they continued throughout the work, always being available for support and any questions.
They designed both the kitchen and hallway extensions, and managed the planning permission process for us as well, something which we were extremely grateful for when addressing the challenges involved in a front extension and gaining planning permission. The support through this process was invaluable in getting us the approvals we needed.
Thanks again John and Emma"

I cannot recommend Stolwood Architects highly enough, both Emma and John were superbly supportive and helpful in assisting me navigate my planning application, not to mention professional and speedy in delivering the required architectural drawings where they went out of their way making sure all potential considerations and questions would be covered before submission. I would definitely use them again and recommend them to small businesses, especially those who are unfamiliar with the process of historical planning applications.

Stolwood Architects were involved in our project of a single storey extension and a garage conversion right from the beginning. They took us through the various stages of development including design, planning permission and building regulation applications. Each stage of the project was clearly laid out and priced so that we knew the exact cost. Everything worked smoothly and seamlessly and was stress free.
Thank you John and Emma for a job well done.

"Following a site visit to discuss the requirements for our extension, John was able to make valuable suggestions which were incorporated into an initial design scheme. John then took the agreed design through planning and building regulations processes, culminating in producing the tender pack of information which was sent to 5 potential contractors. The extension was subsequently constructed by one of the five, Micheal Dunne Construction (01926 772549). At all times John acted in a professional and entirely competent manner and we are very pleased with the outcome, both design and construction. I would have no hesitation in recommending Stolwood Architects if you have a project in mind"
